BIM (Building Information Modelling)

In 2011 the government announced as part of its Construction Strategy a new requirement for all projects to electronically document collaborative 3D BIM (Building Information Modelling) with asset information, documentation and relevant data, by 2016.

The four-year programme was established to modernise the sector, its main objective being to reduce capital costs and carbon output produced through the construction and operation of the building industry by 20%.
